Chianti: San Romolo - Florence . S. Polo - Greve - Panzano - Impruneta - Firenze 110 km. Pleasant excursions can be arranged to visit wine cellars, savour typical foodstuffs and appreciate artistic treasures in the Chianti area, one of the most fascinating districts of the Tuscan countryside. The Florentine Chianti, famous for the production of Chianti wine, includes the districts of the towns of Greve, San Casciano, Tavarnelle Val Di Pesa and Barberino Val D'Elsa. Mugello : The Homeland of the Medici San Romolo - Pontassieve - Rufina - Dicomano and Back (map). The Mugello area comprises the first stretch of the valley of the river Sieve as far as Vicchio and is usually considered part of the Florentine Apennine area. The itinerary extends several kilometres from San Romolo, amidst rolling hills and tall cypress trees, against the background of mountain peaks and passes.The Rufina and Pomino Chianti Wine Road was set up in 1997 and takes in the area around the towns of Pontassieve, Rufina, Pelago, Londa and Dicomano.
